Glass replacement
Watch glass replacement.
Replacement of cracked, chipped or scratched watch glass, with new seals fitted and the watch pressure tested where its design allows.
“Thank you for bringing my watch back to life, it feels new again!”
Our Hatton Garden workshop
A clear dial. A sealed case.
A damaged glass spoils the view of the dial and can let dust and moisture into the case. The team identifies the correct glass for your watch, whether sapphire, mineral or acrylic, and fits it with care.
- Inspect the glass, bezel and dial for damage
- Identify the correct type and size of glass for your watch
- Remove the damaged glass and check the dial and hands
- Fit the new glass with a new gasket where required
- Pressure test the watch where its design allows
- Clean the case and check the watch before collection

Ask our watchmakersShould I keep wearing a watch with a cracked glass?
It is best not to. A crack can let in moisture and dust, and fragments can scratch the dial or catch the hands. Bring the watch in as soon as you can.
Which types of glass can you replace?
Sapphire, mineral and acrylic glass. The team identifies the correct glass for your watch's make and model.
Will my watch still be water resistant?
Where the watch's design and condition allow, it is pressure tested after the new glass is fitted, and the result is recorded on your invoice.
Can a scratched glass be polished instead?
Light scratches on acrylic glass can often be polished out. Chipped or cracked sapphire and mineral glass needs replacing. The team advises after inspection.
What will glass replacement cost?
Costs depend on the watch and the glass required. Following an assessment, the team explains the estimate so you can decide how to proceed.
How long will it take?
Timing depends on the glass and the availability of the correct part. An estimated completion time is given after inspection.
